Blesma has received £5,000 to provide grassroots welfare services to ex-Service men and women who have suffered life-changing limb loss or the use of a limb, an eye or loss of sight in their communities through the UK.
The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation which offers grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.
The grant will ensure the charity can continue to deliver unique individual welfare programmes to veterans in Hull and across the UK.
Barry Le Grys, Chief Executive at Blesma said: “Blesma is tremendously thankful for the donation from the Santander Foundation; a community initiative. Our aim at Blesma is to promote independence and fulfilment for our veterans suffering limb loss, within their local communities. This donation will go a long way to help us achieve that.”
Laura McCully, Branch Director at Santander’s Hull branch said: “The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK. Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting Blesma, and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”
