The inaugural charity gala dinner of the City Veterans’ Network, the first of what is hoped will become annual event, is due to be held at the Imperial War Museum London this Thursday, November 5.

The CVN comprises members from firms from across the UK financial services industry and is dedicated to sharing ideas and experiences about the best ways to employ ex-servicemen and women. It was formed in October 2014.

A selection of celebrities, serving  servicemen and women and military veterans will attend the dinner, which, through a combination of a live auction, a silent auction and pledges, is hoped will raise a six-figure sum for three military charities.

These are Blesma, which helps limbless veterans and their families, Combat Stress, the leading veterans’ mental health charity and SkillForce, which employs ex-Forces personnel to teach courses that help young people develop self-confidence and resilience.

Over 320 people will be at the dinner and tables have been taken by institutions throughout the City, including banks, legal firms, asset management funds and consultancies. Tom Isaac, co-head of European banking for financial institutions, Jenny Grey, EMEA head of communications and Tina Fordham, chief global political analyst, will attend from Citi, while Michael Cole-Fontayn, EMEA chairman, will attend from BNY Mellon.
