An amputee motorcycle paramedic from the West Midlands donated 3 motorcycles to a London-based military charity on Saturday 25 April in Aldridge. John Brown from Walsall had to have his left leg amputated after a road accident whilst on duty shattered his pelvis in 2007.
The 53-year-old says: “I am not looking for a pat on the back here, I think I am very fortunate to have survived and have an incredible amount of admiration for those who incur such injuries by putting their lives on the line.
They give their all and, in my own small way, I just wanted to give something back.”
John Brown
Blesma Support Officer John Francis said: “I cannot thank John enough for his generosity. His kind offer has changed 3 lives for the better and the recipients, being the motorcycle enthusiasts that they are, are over the moon about it. I am in awe of a great deal of our Members but have special regard for people like John who make such kind donations out of the goodness of their hearts.”
The 3 bikes are Honda VFR 750, Yamaha FJR 1300 and an adapted BMW1100 were donated at Mr Brown’s residence in The Stables, Walsall.
