17 June 2014

This year's Armed Forces Day national event is being held in Stirling on Saturday 28th June and plans are well underway to create a spectacular programme of activities in the historic city, for military personnel and their families, veterans and visitors to make this a truly memorable occasion everybody can enjoy.

2014 is especially important as it’s the 70th anniversary of D-Day when troops from Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland were among those who fought their way across the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of Europe.

The National Event will be held in Stirling but many more events will be held up and down the country in support of Armed Forces Day.  Across the country people are getting involved: communities hold local events and businesses show their support.
