Their Story
Christine Landess brings to Blesma a wide range of experience when it comes to offering support in the charity sector. Having completed her degree in psychology she spent many years working in homeless services in London, starting out as a resettlement officer working with rough sleepers and going on to manage hostels and support services for prolific offenders and people with addiction issues. These experiences have given Christine the belief that things can always change for the better.
Before coming to Blesma Christine spent eight years working for the Royal British Legion where she managed the Northern Outreach Team, supporting veterans and their families. Christine lives with her family on the North Yorkshire Coast and enjoys walking, art and architecture and also thinking about where to go next in her campervan.

Heather Plowright
Since my partner’s lower limb amputation (7 years ago), I have been involved with Blesma. From volunteering in the North East to attending outreach events as a family. We have a special love for Blesma and all they do. I grew up as the daughter of a Paralympian and that is where my love for supporting others was fostered. I spent my youth volunteering with the Welsh Disabled Para Team, travelling to sport camps around the globe.
Before joining Blesma I worked in Business Support and was a Personal assistant but always knew I wanted to work in the disability charity sector. I feel incredibly honoured to be part of the Blesma team supporting members and their families on a daily basis.
