Blesma Support Officer Midlands: Vanessa Lucas

Vanessa (more often Ness!) has worked previously for many years in HR, before moving across into Community Engagement supporting families within the military community, and then joining Blesma; she brings with her a wealth of experience and transferable skills.

Originally from a small village in the Cotswolds, Vanessa has moved around the country with her husband who is a serving Officer in the Royal Signals, before settling in Staffordshire.

Ness is a keen cook and enjoys entertaining and spending time with her family and friends, gardening and going to the cinema.

Outreach Officer Midlands Sarah Criddle

I was born into Military life as my Father was a Soldier with the RAVC; sadly, he was fatally injured in 1973 (NI), and my Mum served for a while, too. I joined the RAF Police for a 13-plus-year career, and now my son is a serving soldier.  All these factors were a huge drive for me to work for a charity that supports our military so well.

During my single Mum years, I worked a lot with children and adults with learning and physical disabilities.

My hobbies include my dog, pottering in my garden, and spending time with my grown-up little family. I have recently awoken a love of camping and nature!
