Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, is an Armed Forces charity that supports over 2,600 injured and limbless veterans, as well as their widows and close family.
We advocate for injured veterans, provide prosthetics advice, financial assistance, year-round activities, as well as personal, practical advice and emotional support to injured veterans and their families.

Surewise has strengthened its support for injured and limbless veterans through a range of fundraising activities and direct contributions to Blesma Members. The company has raised more than £5,000 through two successful golf days, while also enabling 10 Blesma Members to take part in the golf tournament. In addition, Surewise has also donated five mobility scooters worth over £10,000 since 2024, directly improving independence and quality of life for limbless veterans.
How Blesma supports injured veterans
One of the ways Blesma supports veterans is through unique social and wellbeing activities, such as the opportunity to swim with Newfoundland dogs. These experiences help boost mental health and wellbeing, while giving injured veterans the chance to meet others who have gone through similar situations.
Richard spent nine years in the RAF, when a serious road traffic accident led to him having his leg amputated.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the whole day was therapeutic and calming. Blesma continues to put its Members first, supporting them through life, and part of that is being able to put on incredible activities such as swimming with Newfoundland dogs.
