Meet Richard Gilbert

Their Story

Richard Gilbert spent nine years in the RAF, where he met his wife Sam, and then worked at Scotland Yard SO15 Counter Terrorism department as a detective.

A serious road traffic accident resulted in him retiring four years later in 2018 and having his leg amputated in August 2020. A keen sportsman, playing rugby and football to semi-professional level, the 46-year-old is a member of a veterans’ motorbike rehab team.
