Motorcycling support for BLESMA
BLESMA are proud to have always had amazing support from the motorcycling community. 2012 is no exception and we have two great events coming up that you may wish to take part in to support injured servicemen and women.
Ride Route 66
Ever fancied riding a motorcycle down America's famous Route 66?

BLESMA are honoured to be one of the chosen charities of Blue Cucumber Tours motorcycle events. They organise motorcycle tours along Ride Route 66, and also down the Pacific Coast Highway in America. In 2012 they aim to run 4 of these tours and they would love to have you join them!
The costs of each tour does vary, and the details of each package is available on the website. When you take part, you then also have the option to also raise sponsorship for UK service charities, including BLESMA.
In addition you can win the trip of a lifetime by purchasing a draw ticket. For every 1000 tickets sold a draw is made and the lucky winner gets to take part on the tour completly free of charge! (*Excluding flight costs) And all proceeds from the draw are split evenly between the 5 benefitting charities. So what are you waiting for - buy your ticket today!

Great Escape 2
When: 1st - 15th September 2013
Where: Europe
Who: Anyone with a bike willing and able to fundraise!
Do you remember the film "The Great Escape" with the famous scene of Steve McQueen, jumping a motorcycle over the prison fence? Great film wasn't it? Well, it was actually based on a true story with characters based on real people. How would you like to re-create this historic journey?
In June 2011 a team of riders decided to do just that and raise money for service charities at the same time. It was a huge success raising over £10,000 and proved to be so popular that they are now organising the same ride on a regular basis.
Read more about the original trip here.

The BLESMA "Great Escape 2" ride will take place in September 2013 and we are looking for a team of 10-20 riders to take part. There will be a fixed price for the trip which will include your accomodation (B & B some half board), full support vehicle and your official tour guides - Peter "Spud" Spowage and David "Pud Pud" Muckle.
You will need to provide your own bike (over 500cc) and fuel expenses. In addition you will be asked to raise sponsorship for BLESMA and we will offer you all the support you need to do this.
The trip will last for two weeks and in that time riders will have travelled through 12 European countries and a distance of 3,200 miles. This will be on some of the most beautiful riding routes in Europe including the incredible "Stelvio Pass", Italy described by BBC Top Gear programme as the 'best driving road in the world'.
The ride is more than just a challenge, it is a chance to remember those who gave their lives during the World Wars. If you have someone you would like to honour or remember, you can talk to the tour operators to see if it is feasible to visit a personal memorial site along the way.
To find out more or to go ahead and book your place on the tour please contact Peter Spowage on the following details:
